Iran intends to produce 70 million tons of various petrochemical products

Iran intends to produce 70 million tons of various petrochemical products, valued at $20 billion, per annum by the end of 2010, the Persian-language daily Abrar-e Eqtesadi reported on Sunday. 

 

It pointed to the project of inuguration ceremony for Zanjan Petrochemical Complex, worth $215 million, saying the complex, with annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of polyethylene, will come on stream within the next four years. 

 

Iran has invested more tan $12 billion in its petrochemical industry over the past six years, said the paper, adding the country expects to produce 15 million tons of petrochemicals this year. (menareport.com)
