Exports of industrial goods and minerals, as well as handicrafts and border-luggage exports amounted to US$1.783 billion in the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), the industry mines ministry reported Saturday.
Also, the value of industrial goods and minerals exports peaked at US$1.588 billion. Handicrafts rose to US$ 1.637 billion, Irna reported. The figures were 24.3 percent and 21.3 percent higher in terms of weight and value respectively compared to the corresponding period in the previous year, the report added.
In addition, in the said period over six million tons of non-oil products valued at US$ 2.066 billion were exported which is higher by 21.6 and 10.9 percent in terms of weight and value compared to the year before. "The industrial and minerals exports' share of total non-oil exports was 78.4 percent in the period," the report said.
Iran non-oil exports hit US$ 512.5 million in the Iranian month of Farvardin (March 21-April 20) which is over 5.7 percent higher compared to the same period last year, the Customs Administration has reported.
