Iran has been carrying out a set of studies to establish seven wind power plants in three northwestern provinces. If the results of the studies confirm that the target regions are fine for the purpose, the projects will be immediately implemented under the private sector’s management.
According to MNA, three of the power plants are to be set up in the West Azarbaijan province – Tasuj, Rashkan and Tikup regions while three others in the East Azarbaijan province – Sarab, Tikemdash and Haris regions – and another one in the Ardebil province – Kemiabad region.
Arastou Sadeqi, the director of the wind and water energies department in the Iran New energies Organization had earlier said that 17 wind measuring stations equipped with 40-meter height masts have been installed in Gilan and Azarbaijan provinces each of which cost the government 120 million rials in investment.
