ALBAWABA - Global airline companies are still avoiding and cancelling flights within the Lebanese airspace. A recent flight tracking data showed that international companies are still rerouting their flights to Europe to avoid flying over Lebanon.

Air traffic and Middle East conflict

In the past days, global air traffic faced significant changes in flight routes, amid rising conflicts in the Middle East and growing escalations. As a result, several international airlines announced changes to their flight routes and operational plans, during growing concerns about escalating tensions in the region.

International airline companies change trips

Singapore Airlines announced earlier suspending their flights through the Lebanese airspace, as a result of following safety procedures for their passengers and crew members, according to Reuters.

Taiwan's EVA Air and China Airlines also changed their Europe flight routes to avoid flying over Lebanon, according to a recent data from FlightRadar24.

Operator Proficiency Check (OPC), an organization specialized in providing information on aviation risks, issued a recent warning to global and international airlines asking them to avoid Lebanese and Iraqi airspace, due to the recent tensions and expected escalations in the Middle East and region.
