Set against a turbulent global backdrop, the 7th International Accounting Forum (IAF) in Dubai will address the current challenges facing accounting and finance professionals.

These include international accounting standards; financial reporting; performance management, mergers and acquisitions; information technology; financial management; budgeting and cost control.

Produced by IIR, the IAF is a yearly update on all the latest developments. The keynote address focuses on International Accounting Standards: past, present and future and is followed by a One Stop Guide to IAS 39. This kicks off a series of One Stop Guides including company reporting; financial risk management and the One Stop Guide to Achieving the Virtual Close.

A case study on the FedEx experience will consider Planning and Budgeting in The Strategy-Focused Organization and a mini-workshop session will address the latest developments in financial management. Chief among these is Understanding Specific Roles: the changing nature of finance and the finance profession.

The 7th International Accounting Forum spans five-days and incorporates two seminal workshops. The main conference is followed by a post-conference workshop taking up a further two days. The IAS master class is an update on modifications of international accounting standards. — (menareport.com)
