Guests at Beirut's InterContinental Phoenicia are now able to use high-speed Internet connectivity throughout the hotel with the installation of wired and wireless network solutions provided by 3Com.
Public areas throughout the hotel, such as conference rooms and restaurants, have been turned into Wi-Fi hot spots, meaning computers and other devices can be wirelessly connected to the Internet. In addition, the Phoenicia's new Residence Suites have also been fitted with Wi-Fi connectivity.
Established using 3Com's Wireless LAN Access Point 8000, the Phoenicia's new Hot Spots offer Internet access that is not only fast, but also secure. Technical manager for 3Com Middle East, Hani Nofal said that the wireless access points are powered by Power Over Ethernet Technology, which utilizes a single cable to carry both power and data, thus allowing greater flexibility in installing the Access Point 8000 and establishing its surrounding Hot Spots.
3Com is a tier-one provider of voice and data networking products, services and solutions for enterprises of all sizes and public sector organizations. — (menareport.com)
