InterContinental Hotels Group, the world’s most global hotel company, shone in the spotlight last night when it was presented with four prestigious trophies at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards.

At the event, three of InterContinental Hotels Group’s most impressive and service-orientated properties were presented with awards, while the ‘Best Business Hotel Chain in the Middle East Award’was presented to InterContinental Hotels and Resorts - the fouth time the hotel chain has won the award in five years.

Properties from the InterContinental Hotels Group portfolio recognized for their outstanding performance in regional cities include:

• InterContinental Jordan with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Amman Award’
• InterContinental Riyadh with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Riyadh Award’
• InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut with the ‘Best Business Hotel in Beirut Award’

It is the third time the InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut and the InterContinental Riyadh have been honored with the prestigious accolades, after winning the awards in 2003 and 2004.

With awards presented by BBC Radio 4 presenter and Britian’s best known female correspondent, Kate Adie, the entire InterContinental Hotels Group team at the event, held at the Goldolphin Ballroom, Emirates Towers, were thrilled to witness the impressive achievements.

“We are thrilled to have been recognized, as a group, as the top place to stay for business travellers in the Middle East, whilst also receiving the individual awards for three of our premier properties. What makes the awards significant is that they are decided by the individual votes of business travellers, who are extremely demanding,” said Chris Moloney, chief operating officer, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle East and Africa.

“It is very satisfying for InterContinental Hotels Group to receive this level of recognition, considering the steps we have taken to introduce new hotels from all our brands across the region providing business travellers with accommodation options wherever they might be doing business in the region. With 72 hotels currently in operation and more on the way over the coming months we offer the most hotels and the widest range of accommodation options in this part of the world.”
