Visitors to Cairo Telecomp 2002, the satellite and telecommunication exhibition and conference, taking place in Cairo in January 14-17, can visit the Inmarsat Limited stand, featuring its mobile communication technologies delivered via satellite.

“We see a considerable growth potential in the region’s telecommunication and satellite industry for the next five years and Cairo Telecomp 2002 is what brings the industry together to decide on the region’s future in that space,” said Samer Halawi, regional director of Inmarsat Ltd.

A EuroConsult report on the future of the satellite market for the next seven years estimated that broadband services will reach $30 billion by 2007, video services to reach $150 billion, mobile voice and data to reach $10 billions and digital audio to reach eight billion dollars.

“Our focus is on delivering high-speed global mobile data communications solutions in the business-to-business environment. This means the Inmarsat partnership provides end-to-end services and could be anything from wireless video conferencing to high-speed Internet connectivity, to a range of specialist applications,” explained Yazan Hatamleh, regional business development manager of Inmarsat Ltd.

“Our objective from participating in Cairo Telecomp 2002 is to present these capabilities through our range of solutions along with sustaining our active involvement in the realization of the industry’s future in the region.”

Inmarsat Ltd owns and operates a global satellite network and delivers its mobile satellite communications solutions to businesses around the world, in areas where there is no coverage and where cost is prohibitive, through a global distribution network of approximately 200 distributors and other service providers operating in over 150 countries to end users in the maritime, land and aeronautical sectors.

Inmarsat Ltd has a portfolio of satellite solutions, including voice, fax, intranet and Internet access and other data services. At the end of December 2000, approximately 212,000 terminals were registered to access Inmarsat Ltd’s services, according to a company press release. — (menareport.com)
