Today, Injazat Data Systems, the region’s leading Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services provider, has partnered with ALDAR Properties PJSC to develop the facilities of its Data Centre and Corporate Headquarters at Madinat Mohammed Bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi.
“Teaming up with ALDAR will certainly support our major growth initiatives.” said Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, Injazat Data Systems’ Chief Executive Officer “Our partnership with ALDAR ensures that the professional environment of our Headquarters and Data Centre is of premium quality, which is essential to providing excellent services” Mr. Lari then added: “This partnership, puts Injazat’s strategic Data Centre on a fast track to further expand the capabilities of the IT managed services offered to its clients with the highest levels of security and availability.”
Meanwhile, ALDAR believes the construction of the new centre will be a regional benchmark through a delicate balance between design requirements and performance.
“The Data Centre will be a regional breakthrough designed according to the specifications of a Tier IV performance rating type. We have achieved excellent results designing and developing various high-profile projects in 2006 and we are riding on that momentum as we embark on this groundbreaking project with Injazat this year,” said Mr. Ronald Stephen Barrott, ALDAR Chief Executive Officer.
“ALDAR views this as more than a partnership. We consider Injazat Data Systems a sister company and as a result of such a strong relationship between the two organisations it is likely that there will be further future projects for us to work together on,” added Barrott.
With the development’s plans and organisation already firmly in place, the project should see swift progress. ALDAR has issued invitations to tender to four pre-qualified companies for the construction of the Injazat Data Centre, which has an estimated cost exceeding AED 360 million.
“The project, located on a 17,000-square metre area, will comprise of a two-storey Tier IV Data Centre, a five-storey Injazat Headquarters, and an eight-storey car park. The Headquarters will also house 1,000 employees, and facilities such as a 200 seat auditorium, a gymnasium, library and a coffee shop,” explained Hazem Al Nowais, ALDAR’s Senior Development Manager for Injazat Data Systems’ project.
Dr. Yousif Asfour, Injazat’s Data Centre Project Manager, expanded upon the wider implications surrounding the new centre’s establishment. “As the most advanced data centre in the UAE & the GCC, our Data Centre will allow Injazat to serve the entire region and support the expansion of the businesses of our clients. The Data Centre will provide our clients with access through a fully-redundant IT infrastructure with 24/7 onsite security and technical support, in addition to a comprehensive range of value-added service offerings to address key IT-related tasks and ongoing activities.”
The contractors invited to tender are Al Futtaim Carillion, Zublin, Hitachi Plant JV with ETA & Ascon, and Terna Greece. All are international companies with experience in construction of similar projects. The construction contract will be issued shortly with the project to be completed in phases over eighteen months.
With 2,000 square metres of useable space, the data centre will be large enough to support up to 9,000 servers and all associated infrastructure to provide the highest level of Managed IT Services in the region.
