In an attempt to increase Indian tea exports to the Middle East, the Indian Tea Association, the leading body of tea producers in the country, has initiated plans to establish an auction center in Dubai.

"We will write to the Tea Board for moving ahead with the plan," ITA Chairman C.K. Dhanuka told Gulf News. The basic idea behind the move, Dhanuka said, was to increase exports of tea from India to the Middle East.

"Once we are able to send the commodity, it will increase the availability of tea in the Middle East and also become easier for us to sell it," said Dhanuka. (menareport.com)
