Furniture and interior design exhibition Index Cairo is recording double-digit floor space growth compared to last year with, to date, exhibitors contracting 15 percent more display area for the 2002 show, which will be held at the Cairo International Conference Center (CICC) from June 4-7, according to a press release.
“To date, we have contracted more than 120 companies from 14 countries. Countries represented for the first time are Palestine and Brazil,” said Ashraf Sharaf, project manager at dmg Index Exhibitions, which organizes the exhibition.
“Space growth has come from regular participants expanded their stand space, most notably those from Brazil, Italy, China and Turkey. Indeed Turkish exhibitors will occupy twice as much space as last year,” he added.
“The growth of the show is a direct result of the surge in new hotels, resorts and residential complexes throughout Egypt and North Africa,” explained Sharaf. “This trend will continue with industry studies predicting an additional 140 thousand residential and commercial units coming on line in the next three years. The re-emergence of Libya into the equation can only unearth even great opportunities as the country has already signaled its intention to develop a viable tourism base.” — (menareport.com)
