IMF Managing Director to Visit Mauritania, Algeria and Tunisia

Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Horst Kohler will visit Mauritania, Algeria and Tunisia during October 14-21, 2002, at the invitation of these countries, stated a press release. 

 

Köhler will have discussions with President Taya of Mauritania, President Bouteflika of Algeria and President Ben Ali of Tunisia, and other authorities of these countries. The purpose of the visit, which is Köhler's first to the Maghreb since assuming office as Managing Director of the IMF on May 1, 2000, is for discussions on issues confronting the regional and global economy, and on the role of the IMF. — (menareport.com)
