Mr. Rodrigo de Rato, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will visit Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia during February 28-March 3, at the invitation of the authorities in each country.

The visit, which is de Rato's first to the Maghreb region since assuming office, is an opportunity for the Managing Director to hold discussions in each country on recent economic developments and on issues confronting the regional and global economy, and to listen to the authorities views on the role of the IMF in this context.
