According to <i>Al-Sabaah</i> newspaper, Mr. Mazen Karim, Director of Technical Department at the Municipality of Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, said that ID 107 billion was allocated to execute municipal service projects in the district. He added that the municipality is now responsible for these projects, which used to be leased to individual contractors in the past.
He added that the projects would be executed through contracting companies based on specific technical standards and 6-month maintenance period. The projects include mainly roads repairing and decoration, roads pavement, parks establishment and traffic improvement projects. Some of these projects were already started last year, the official said.
