HSBC has been recognized as Best Bank and Best Debt House in the Middle East by Euromoney magazine in its Awards for Excellence 2003. The Bank also won Best Debt House in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In announcing the awards, Euromoney magazine said: “HSBC has arguably the most extensive regional presence in the Middle East in terms of both the number of countries in which it operates and the breadth of products that it offers.”

“In areas such as cash management and risk management and treasury, HSBC Bank Middle East plays a leading role in the region, but with the Bank's unparalleled expertise in Islamic finance and the inclusion of its affiliate, the Saudi British Bank, it has taken the top.”

HSBC is the largest and most widely represented international bank in the Middle East. It has 29 branches throughout the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Palestinian Autonomous Area, including an offshore banking unit in Bahrain.

This extensive regional coverage is strengthened by another member of the HSBC Group HSBC Bank Egypt, and by its associated companies, the Saudi British Bank and British Arab Commercial Bank. In addition to its Middle Eastern network, the Bank has a representative office in Tehran, Iran. — (menareport.com)
