Eighteen families from the Central Municipal Council Tuesday received keys to their new houses. Built under the Housing Rehabilitation Program, a royal gesture of King Hamad, the new homes are in Sitra-Mahaza, Sitra-Wadayan, Sitra-Kharjiya, Sitra-Suffala, Sitra AbuAlAish, East Eker, Tubli, East Riffa, Al A'ali, Nuwaidrat, Salmabad and Sanad.
According to the GDN, the ageing, run-down houses in which these families lived have been destroyed and replaced with new, high-quality homes. The program has already completed 100 houses with another 265 underway.
