Israeli firm Metalink Ltd., a provider of high performance VDSL silicon chipsets, and Japan’s Hitachi Communication Technologies, Ltd., announced today that Metalink's QAM four band standard compliant VDSL products, Geryon and Xanthus-II, are now available in Hitachi Communication Technologies, Ltd.'s VDSL product family.
Metalink's chipsets are designed to meet Japanese market requirement for high-speed, 50Mbps downstream and 30Mbps upstream with spectrum compatibility of TCM-ISDN services.
Metalink's Geryon integrates four full-rate 4-band VDSL ports for CO/ONU applications with total throughput of more than 400 Mbps. Xanthus-II is a single 4-band system-on-a-chip for CPE/NT applications.
The devices' flexible band allocation complies with current standards, including 998, 997, and the Chinese Telecommunication Standardization Institute (CTSI) and is designed to meet additional proprietary plans.
