ALBAWABA - Google is closing close on what may be its biggest acquisition to date: the purchase of an Israeli cybersecurity startup for up to $23 billion. The parent firm of Google, Alphabet Inc., is allegedly in advanced talks to buy Wiz, a rising firm in cybersecurity with operations in the US and Israel.

Wiz is situated in New York. Wiz has established alliances with significant tech behemoths including Microsoft, Google, and Amazon.

This move exemplifies Google's efforts to strengthen its cybersecurity offering, which it made after buying Mandiant for $5.4 billion two years ago. Wiz, which was formed by Assaf Rappaport in 2020, has become a household name in the cybersecurity market, significantly elevating its value.

Even though Google dominates online search and advertising, the business is facing legal challenges on the grounds of anticompetitive behavior. Google is now the third-largest player in the cloud computing space, after Amazon and Microsoft, but it is still investing substantially and growing quickly.
