Just recently, we spoke about the Facebook- owned messaging service called WhatsApp, and how it plans on releasing its video calling feature very soon, which no doubt has Google extremely worried, which is why the Wall Street Journal has stated that the tech giant is going to be coming up with a solution. According to the source, Google has been working on a smart messaging application for about a year now, but has kept the news from spreading all around, which eventually leads up to this point.
Now here is how the source states that the messaging application is going to be much smarter compared to its rivals. The app will incorporate intelligent chatbots to help you answer questions. While those might not be sufficient details to help us know more about the service that we might be getting in the future, it is still enough to know that this kind of functionality is yet to be seen in any other messaging applications ranging from Facebook, Viber, or even WhatsApp, which happens to be the most popular service around.
So here is what we think is going to be present in the app; Google chatbot could be more like an integrated search engine that will be present in the application. Since Google is the ‘go to search’ engine when you want any kind of information to look for, it is possible that the messaging app could also sport a much more accurate speech to text functionality, where the words you speak into the microphone will appear as text on the screen more accurately as compared to the other services that you use.
It is also possible that all the rest of the company’s services, such as Google Drive and Gmail are integrated into the service, but it is way too early to tell what to expect. Google has not even provided an exact release date of the smart messaging application but hopefully we will get to know more information about this service in 2016, which we expect the smart app to be officially announced.
