Satellite-based communications solutions provider Globecomm Systems has opened a new office in Dubai Internet City. Based in New York, Globecomm delivers solutions to customers in broadcasting, telecommunications, Internet, industry and government.

Globecomm's contributions in the Middle East have been substantial in recent years. The company has provided several services and solutions to Dubai Internet City (DIC). Globecomm was recently contracted by Aranet, the operating company of Middle East Broadcast Company (MBC), to relocate to two downlinks on their behalf in Dubai Media City, and most recently, Globecomm signed a General Subcontract Agreement with House of Invention for the delivery of Disaster Recovery Mobile equipment to Saudi Telecom Company.

Globecomm Systems’ core business provides end-to-end value-added satellite-based communications solutions. This business supplies ground segment systems and networks for satellite-based communications including hardware and software to support a wide range of satellite systems.

Its wholly owned subsidiary, NetSat Express, provides end-to-end satellite-based Internet solutions including network connectivity, broadband connectivity to end users, Internet connectivity, intranet extension, media distribution and other network services on a global basis. Both Globecomm Systems' and NetSat Express' customers include communication service providers, multinational corporations, Internet Service Providers, content providers and government entities. — (menareport.com)
