Global Village, the international attraction of the Dubai Shopping Festival, has launched a scheme for pre-paid parking at the entertainment and shopping event. Five Dubai-based charity organizations will also benefit from the initiative.
"The scheme will allow card-holders to drive into an exclusive car-park adjacent to the Global Village entrance, using a dedicated road," said General Manager of Global Village, Alan Gordon.
"The pre-paid package costs 500 Emirati dirhams ($136) and will be available from early January at a number of outlets. "As part of the scheme, Global Village will donate parking cards to selected local charities to enable them to use the exclusive road and parking facilities. In addition, a percentage of the fees raised will be donated to the same charities."
Buyers of the pre-paid parking package will receive an electronic card giving unlimited access to the exclusive car park for the entire 32 days of Global Village, a map showing access points highlighting the dedicated road for card holders and a mirror-card to identify the card-holder's vehicle as it approaches the dedicated entrance to the site.
The Global Village is being hosted by Dubai Festival City, a key sponsor of the Dubai Shopping Festival. The Dubai Festival City development is the signature 'city-within-a-city' project being developed on the banks of Dubai Creek by the Al-Futtaim Group.
Dubai Festival City is being developed on 1,200 acres on the banks of Dubai's historic Creek. Comprising 15 distinct development zones, Dubai Festival City is a property development by the Al-Futtaim Group and is the Middle East's largest mixed-use real estate project.
The privately-funded property will comprise a mix of entertainment, dining, shopping, edutainment, sport and leisure facilities, automotive dealerships, hotels, a marina, residential and office components. — (menareport.com)
