More than 20,000 individuals have completed online pre-registration for GITEX since September 16. Online pre-registration closes October 7. Pre-registrants holding complimentary passes to the event can pick-up their name badges at four off-site locations between Thursday, October 10 and Tuesday, October 15, to fast-track their entry to the exhibition which runs October 13 – 17 at the Dubai International Exhibition Center.
Individuals holding a complimentary pass who have missed the online opportunity to pre-register need not despair. They can pre-register at the off-site locations providing they bring their business card and complimentary pass. “Gitex is the largest exhibition organized and hosted by the Dubai World Trade Center and it always attracts a tremendous visitor response. We encourage those planning to attend, to register in advance to ensure fast, easy access,” said Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, assistant general manager of the Dubai World Trade Center.
Organizers say construction activity related to the new Dubai International Convention Center on the DWTC site will have minimal impact on the event. “Every effort is being made to provide solid logistical support for Gitex participants, and while direct access to some halls is hampered, visitors may gain direct access to the exhibition center through Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4, the Al-Wasl building and Hall 8. Registration desks will be operational at all these locations as well,” added Al-Hashemi.
More than 600 exhibitors representing some 1,500 companies and 37 countries will participate in this year’s Gitex exhibition, which will feature 17 pavilions this year—16 national pavilions and the ScanTech pavilion. This year national pavilions will represent Canada, Egypt, France, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Jordan, Korea, Lebanon, Northern Ireland, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
Pre-registrants who do not hold a complimentary pass are reminded that they can only pick up their name badge on site upon payment of the applicable fees and presentation of a valid business card confirming their identify.
Organized by the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), Gitex Dubai, held annually at the Dubai International Exhibition Center, is the Middle East's largest and most important Information Technology (IT) event. There are several Gitex events now being held throughout the region, including Termium-Gitex Beirut held in Lebanon and Gitex Saudi Arabia held in Riyadh. In addition, Gitex Hyderabad (India) made its debut in January 2002, marking the debut of the Gitex brand outside the Middle East region, it will be held again in January 2003. — (menareport.com)
