The Czech Republic is to present Dubai with a unique fountain in the interests of strengthening ties. Called the Fountain of Harmony, the glass fountain is a symbol of friendship and mutual understanding between the Eastern European nation and the emirate.
Tipping the scales at 3.4 tons, the 5.5 meter tall water feature will be located at the round about in front of the Dubai International Exhibition Center's (DIEC) Hall 1. According to the Czech Republic embassy, the fountain will be completed and officially presented to the people of Dubai early next year.
The top two meters of the fountain will be on display at the stand of Gradus, the Czech company responsible for the stunning piece of glasswork, at Index 2002, the international furnishing and interiors trade exhibition, taking place at DIEC from October 2-6.
The fountain is the creation of Czech glass designer Vladimir Prochazka. With over 30 years in the field of glass-designing, he has created numerous glass architectural designs such as fountains, glass lower ceilings, window-panes, lighting pieces from various sorts of glass material.
Over 1,450 companies from 53 countries will be present at Index 2002, which will have first-time representation from companies from Japan, Luxembourg and Morocco. The sold-out show will feature 23 national and industry pavilions. — (menareport.com)
