Syria's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ibrahim Hadad, on Monday announced the foundation of the Syrian-Chinese Oil Company - "Kokab" - that works on drilling and developing Kbibah oil field in al-Hasaka Governorate, located in northeast Syria.
In a statement to SANA, Hadad said "the foundation was the outcome of a contract signed last year with the Chinese National Petroleum Company for the development of Kbibah oil field."
Hadad expressed hope the new company will increase the production of Kbibah field to reach 10,000 BPD, pointing out that Syria opens its doors to all international companies to invest in the fields of excavation and production of oil. (menareport.com)
