A new luxury 500-room hotel is set to be built in the near future in Abu Dhabi to draw tourism to the UAE capital, while plans for the establishment of a Hard Rock Cafe by April 2008 was also announced by the promoters earlier this week.
"We plan to invest Dh200 million in a five-star hotel and Dh75 million in the Hard Rock Cafe. Both are expected to be ready after 18 months," said Group Managing Partner of Planet Group, George Moussa according to Gulf News.
"We have got the franchise for the Hard Rock Cafe in Abu Dhabi and we are finalizing the location soon," he added.
Dubai-headquartered Planet Group has seven companies, all related to the service industry.
A Hard Rock Café already exists on Shaikh Zayed Road in Dubai, while a Planet office recently opened in Abu Dhabi. Earlier this year, plans were also revealed to expand the Dubai Hard Rock to include a hotel.
The five-star hotel to be built along with the Hard Rock Café in Abu Dhabi by the company will be part of Danet Abu Dhabi, a project promoted by Al Qudra Holding.
