Recent reports suggested that Google might be working on its own lineup of Android Wear smartwatches. Thanks to some rendered images, we might have an idea of what these Nexus smartwatches could look like.
The renders are from Android Police, who based them off the physical description provided by an unnamed source, who also mentioned the company plans for the device. Android Police is quite confident about their renders, but one thing to be remembered is that Google is still working on the prototype for the wearable, so the final product could be really different.
From the renders, the watch seems to be pretty standard looking, but a larger model named Angelfish also has two extra buttons. As of now we dont know what these buttons do but it could be customized to launch apps and settings. It also seems to be sportier than the smaller version, called Swordfish.
The renders also show off a new face for Android Wear, allowing users to customize what they want to see at a glance.
The larger watch is separated into eight parts with different data for calendar notifications, steps, emails and much more.
The smaller watch on the other hand comes with just four quadrants and may be targeted towards the more casual wearer who does not need to focus on the fitness aspect of the larger watch. Android Police didnt render any side profile images of the two watches, but they do mention that the Angelfish is thicker that Swordfish. This isnt really surprising as the Angelfish will come with LTE and GPS. The Swordfish will also work with Google's MODE watch band, making strap changes a breeze, which Angelfish wont.
Other rumors also suggest that Google might be working on a new HTC build Nexus smartphone as well, which we might see released with the watch itself.
