Due to the steady expansion of Federal Express Corporation’s business in the Middle East, it has recently introduced an enhanced regional flight network.

Federal Express has reported a 20 percent growth in its Middle East business in the first half of 2000, compared to the corresponding period the previous year. In India and sub-Saharan Africa, FedEx reported growth of 25 and 15 percent respectively in the same period, noted Gulf News. By comparison, the average industry growth in the Middle East region is around 12 percent per year.

The first of Federal Express’ new Airbus A310 aircraft arrived at Dubai International Airport on last Tuesday. Connecting FedEx hubs in Europe and Asia via the Middle East and India, the new FedEx five day per week flights will provide reduced transit times and earlier delivery times for customers in the region, noted Khaleej Times. The new flight network will consist of three Airbus A310-200 aircraft, flying from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Dubai, Mumbai, Bangkok and Subic Bay in the Philippines.

During the upcoming months, customers in the UAE will experience service improvements such as next day service to North America and improved transit times for International Priority Freight (IPF) to Europe. FedEx will introduce its next day delivery to the US, Canada and Mexico from Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. The new service, which offers standard money-back guarantees, will ensure delivery to more than 55 percent of the United States before noon the next day. –(Albawaba-MEBG)
