Egypt has recently signed a contract with a Canadian company to prepare the feasibility study for the Alexandria Metro Project. According to Al-Hayat newspaper, the cost of this project is assessed at $240 million and based on the BOT system.
The head of the Cairo Metro Authority, Muqbel Al-Shafeay, and the representative of the Canadian Exor Company signed this agreement in Cairo yesterday.
The Canadian firm will conduct this study as a donation from the Canadian Aid Agency. This feasibility study covers the first phase of the regional Egyptian metro line, which starts from Alexandria to Abu-Qeir. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
