International trade show organizer Fairs & Exhibitions (F&E) has expanded the Dubai air show's global sales network in a bid to source fresh opportunities and specialist exhibitors for Dubai 2003, the international aerospace exhibition, which will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in December next year.
Specialized aviation-related representatives have now been appointed to cover Switzerland, Greece and the Far East. "All have indicated the potential of winning new country pavilions for the Dubai air show," said Clive Richardson, F&E CEO. "For instance, the new Greek agent, Nicholas Loukidis who has been associated with the country's aerospace and defense industry for a number of years, has reserved 200 square meters for a Greek pavilion which, if sold, would be a 45 percent increase on Greek participation in 2001."
The new representations follow a recent move which saw F&E appoint its first sales agent for Japan. "We are actively stepping up our worldwide marketing network with representation in India also under evaluation," explained Richardson.
"In addition, we are working closely in partnership with American Aerospace & Defense Industries (AADI) to bring increasing numbers of Information Technology (IT)-related exhibitors to the show. As part of the Hanover Fairs group, which organizes Germany's giant Cebit annual technology show, AADI has access to an influential data-base from which to generate support."
To date, companies from 10 countries have contracted for Dubai 2003, which will run at the purpose-built Airport Expo Dubai from December 7-11, next year. "Early signings include exhibitors from the Middle East, Far East, Europe, the UK and USA," explained Project Director Alison Weller. "Major aviation names such as Lufthansa Technik AG, Oerlikon-Contraves, Rolls Royce Plc and Sicma Aero Seat are amongst them."
