As part of the major expansion plan of the Dubai Cable Company (Ducab), company representatives announced recently the inauguration of a Dh20 million PVC compounding plant at its Jebel Ali facility.
The new plant is set to produce flexible PVC compounds for insulation and sheathing of electric cables, according to Khaleej Times. It will be integrated with a fully equipped polymers laboratory to better serve customers who desire specific formulations.
“The setting up of this PVC compounding plant falls in line with the company's overall strategy of vertical integration to secure its supply chain," said Colin Paskins, managing director of Ducab.
"With the new investment, we will ensure timely availability of raw materials for the production and better control of our manufacturing processes as our business continues to expand,’’ Paskins added.
The new plant's centralized control system includes a video graphic display system which eases operation of the plant and maintaining accurate control of each component.
“This has already been an extremely successful year for us and all indicators of growth have been particularly positive," Paskins went on to point out, referring to Ducan's positive indicators.
"In the last few months we have signed deals with several major clients from the government and private sector and we look forward to maintaining this momentum for the rest of the year.’’
