The European Union asserted its commitment to partially finance a coastal road along the Mediterranean Sea between Morocco and Algeria, reported Al-Hayat . The European Commission announced that it will provide 80 million euros ($70 million) to finance the 520 kilometer coastal road connecting the Moroccan Tanjah city with Algerian borders. The road is expected to contribute to establishing a free trade zone between the Arabian Maghreb countries by 2010. A tender will be published during the next few weeks to execute the first phase of the road project. — (menareport.com)
