European stock exchanges close on Wednesday with losses

Stock exchanges in Europe closed Wednesday with losses.

The STOXX Europe 600, which includes around 90% of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 countries, fell 3.17 points, or 0.61%, to close at 512.30.

The UK's FTSE 100 shed 13 points, or 0.17%, to end the day at 8,153. Germany's DAX trimmed 170 points, or 0.92%, to 18,387.

France's CAC 40 was the worst performer of the day, losing almost 85 points, or 1.12%, to wrap the session up at 7,513.

Italy's FTSE MIB, meanwhile, fell 166 points, or 0.48%, to finish the day at 34,471.

Spain's IBEX 35 decreased 2.6 points, or 0.02%, to close the mid-week almost flat at 11,210.
