The European Union (EU) recently signed an accord with the government of Jordan, agreeing to grant the Kingdom €20 million ($17 million) to support its reforms program, reported the KUNA news agency. Jordan’s reform program is expected to enhance the partnership between public and private sectors and to develop an investment attractive climate.
Official European aid to the Kingdom totaled some €1.4 billion over the 1996-1999 period, the first phase of Brussels' financial and economic aid program, best known as MEDA I for supporting a political, economic, socio-cultural partnership between the EU and 12 Mediterranean countries, including Jordan. — (menareport.com)
