Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) Tuesday announced that its UAE mobile network user total had crossed the 4 million mark, giving it a customer base of 95 per cent of the country’s 4.2 million population.
A ratio of 19:20 represents one of the highest mobile phone penetration rates in the world, and confirms Etisalat’s success in finding a winning formula to satisfy its customers across the board. Mohammad Hassan Omran, CEO, Etisalat, said: “Other countries may have approached a similar level but it is unlikely that any of them had a single telecom operator.
“Etisalat is probably the only single operator in one country with such an achievement. Covering such a staggering percentage of the population speaks volumes for the Corporation’s commitment and ability to provide a comprehensive range of services and packages catering for every strata of the UAE population.
“This is a noteworthy achievement and confirms the Corporation is able to deliver what the customer wants.” “We would like to express our gratitude for the support extended to us by our customers and business partners, which has enabled us to reach these achievements”, added Omran.
Focusing on customer care and emphasizing services and products that are tailored to the needs of clients has led to a series of initiatives that have confirmed Etisalat’s position as the region’s market leader.
High profile cutting edge services such as the launch of 3G and the soon-to-be-launched Next Generation Networks have demonstrated Etisalat’s ability to satisfy the most demanding customers. While at the most basic level of service provision, consistency, reliability and coverage, it has delivered to the UAE mobile user.
New additions such as Missed Call Notification (MCN), Tarjim, GPRS Roaming, and NAJM, Etisalat’s first post-paid calling package, clearly illustrate that the Corporation is not prepared to stand still and remains determined to expand its mobile services offering.
