United Arab Emirate’s Etisalat recently announced the introduction of a full roaming facility for WASEL subscribers. WASEL users can now make outgoing calls as well as receive incoming calls while traveling overseas, without a deposit or a bank guarantee. Users will be able to make outgoing calls with effect from May 5.
Etisalat was established in 1976 and launched its GSM Service in 1994. Its subscriber base of 130,000 at the end of 1996 stands currently at 1.6 million. The principal activity of the Group is to provide telecommunications services, media and equipment including the provision of related contracting and consulting services to international telecommunications companies and consortia. — (menareport.com)
