ESRI, the leading developer of geographic information system (GIS) software announced that its six annual Middle East and African user conference will be staged in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from October 8-10. Hosted by GISTEC, a longtime distributor of ESRI software in the UAE, the conference will be held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel. It is restricted to registered users of ESRI software.
The conference will commence with the traditional plenary session presented by Jack Dangermond, President of ESRI. David Maguire, ESRI's Director of Product Development and others will also be participating in this introductory session. The first day of presentations will conclude with a reception inaugurating the official opening of the always-popular ESRI Map Gallery, a graphic presentation of GIS in action.
Other activities include the presentation of technical papers, industry discussions, workshops, map presentations, and an exhibitor pavilion featuring a comprehensive trade show with many hardware, software, and technology companies.
More than 600 users of ESRI software from the Middle East and Africa are expected to attend the conference. The event will provide a wealth of information from ESRI staff, exhibitors, users, and business partners. — (menareport.com)
