( MEBG ) - Although Tunisia is not a major oil player in the oil industry, ENI has been present in the country since 1961.
Its main operation is El Borma field. Production is stable at 14,000 bpd rate, and is expected to remain in that level.
In the engineering and contracting services sector, Snamprogetti and Saipem carried out the design and construction of some major projects, including the Tunisian Section of the TRANSMED System and a refinery.
The TRANSMED Gas Pipeline System, which transports natural gas from Algeria to Italy, crosses Tunisian territory for a length of about 370 km, from the border with Algeria (Feriana) to Cap Bon.
