Emirates Post’s Postcard Millionaire Campaign drew to a close Thursday night, 11 months after it was first launched in the UAE. There was an air of anticipation at Lulu Hypermarket, Ghusais, the venue of the final draw, as curious shoppers and hopeful postcard pack holders gathered to follow the evening’s proceedings.
The draw was preceded by a 45-minute Keralite cultural show, adding to the excitement of the evening. The festivities began with a performance of Trivadura, the traditional Kerala welcome dance which was followed by a recital of the five-member band Panchvedium. The 45-minute cultural programme ended with the Puli Kachi (tiger dance) which set the stage for the final draw of the Postcard Millionaire Campaign.
Ticket number 0822546 was picked as the winning number in Thursday’s draw. The holder will receive all 11 prizes of the draw, consisting of AED 500,000 top cash prize, the AED 150,000, AED 50,000, two AED 25,000 prizes, five AED 10,000 cash prizes and a Mercedes ML 350, with a total value of AED 1 million.
At the end of the draw, six winners of previous Postcard Millionaire draws received their prizes from Emirates Post officials. Among them was Umesh Sugandh, holder of ticket number 0601269 who won the top prize of AED 500,000 in Postcard Millionaire’s seventh draw.
Hasan Ali Mohammad Najem, an AC technician and holder of ticket number 2110601 (Draw 7) and Saif Ebrahim Mohamed, holder of ticket number 4104511 (Draw 2), each went home AED 150,000 richer.
Father of three, Hamza Thottilathodi, holder of ticket number 1708594, Lalit Mohandas, a data analyst with DNATA and holder of ticket number 6009989 and Ram Mohan, holder of ticket number 3263809, each won AED 10,000 in the seventh draw.
