The UAE recently awarded a $120 million tender to an Emirate-German consortium to transfer fresh water from Fujairah Water Desalinizing and Energy Generating Station.
The consortium consisted of the Emirates Jaber Energy Services Company and the German Technip Company, according to Al-Hayat daily.
The companies will extend a 185-kilometer water pipeline to Al-Ain city, along with a 16-kilometer water pipeline to Zeid city. Moreover, water storage and pumping facilities and equipment will also be provided and installed. –(MENA Report)
