Emirates Building Systems (EBS) has partnered with Finland’s Tekla to construct the steel structure topping Dubai's new The Tower Project on the Sheikh Zayed Road. Designed with four fins surrounding a central pyramid, The Tower's crown segment utilizes more than 120 tons of steel.
Union Properties’s biggest current project, The Tower is a 50-storey residential block, which at 250 meters will be almost as tall as the neighboring Emirates Tower. Construction, by the joint UAE-Australian Nasa Multiplex company, is scheduled for completion in 2002.
The Tower is the second project on which EBS and Tekla Middle East have collaborated – the fabrication company also deployed Tekla’s X-Steel engineering solution in the design and fabrication of the Skywalk Bridge in Dubai. Tekla's technology has also been deployed in the construction of the Abu Dhabi Trade Center, Dubai's Grand Hyatt complex and the Kingdom Trade Center in Saudi Arabia.
EBS headquarter office is located in Jebel Ali Industrial Park, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company also has branch offices in Abu Dhabi, Bangladesh, Doha, Sudan and Yemen, and certified builders in Algeria, Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Korea, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
Tekla's corporate headquarter office is located in Espoo, Finland, with subsidiaries in France, Germany, Malaysia, Norway, Sweden, UK and USA. In addition, the company has representative offices in China, Japan, and recently Dubai. Net sales of Tekla Corporation for 2000 were $24 million. — (menareport.com)
