Emirates Airlines, the flagship carrier of the United Arab Emirates, recently expanded its fleet, by adding a third Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The addition came as part of the company’s expansion program.

The Boeing 777-300 is the world's longest aircraft and the largest twin-jet. The aircraft boasts a cargo carrying capacity of 18 tons with full passenger load, Khaleej Times reported.

"The Boeing 777-300 with its high capacity and long range, plays a vital role in our strategy for future growth. We are confident that this aircraft will continue to help us meet our ever-increasing seat demand, allowing our customers an even wider choice," remarked Tim Clark, Emirates' Chief Director.

Emirates will now have a total of three operational B777-300s, with a fourth to be added in March 2001. Six additional planes of this type were recently ordered for delivery in 2002 and 2003. The airline operated over 30 aircraft to destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and the Far East. – (Albawaba-MEBG
