Emarat has is now offering a next-generation of smart cards. The chip-based cards mean that the Emarat range of cards will store more information and can be programmed to activate restrictions or benefits on pre-determined instructions.

“The smart cards is a major milestone not only for Emarat but also for the customer and the fleet management sector in the UAE as a whole,” said General Manager of Emarat, Rashid-Al Shamsi. “This greatly enhances time, cost efficiency and complete ease of use any where in the country.”

Al Shamsi added: “The concept of a fleet management card is not new – Emarat already has the Safeer Card that has gained an excellent customer base. There are other cards also available in the market, but with one major difference. Most of the existing cards use a magnetic stripe whereas the new range of Emarat smart cards will incorporate a chip.”

The new range of smart cards include the Safeer, Atheer and Em-Cash. Safeer incorporates a chip which will make it the first smart credit-based fuel card of its kind in Dubai allowing for more security, flexibility and up-to-date information for its customers. Atheer, a pre-paid smart card has been specially tailored for small-to-medium fleet owners to offer a far higher level of control, security and convenience when it comes to motoring payments.

Em-Cash is the first reloadable smart card in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is designed to make motoring payments quicker and easier for fleet owners as well as individual drivers. — (menareport.com)
