According to <i>Al-Zzaman</i> newspaper, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity established a new department for electricity in Al-Sader City. A senior ministry official said that the new department will be granted all responsibilities and sovereign authorities in all areas of the city. He added that the local electricity network reconstruction project is moving according to schedules whereby the first phase of the project was accomplished.
The second and third phases of the projects will be accomplished in 24 months. The electricity network reconstruction cost stands at $75 million, the official said.
