Emirates Internet and Multimedia (EIM) last week completed another of its ‘Internet in Schools’ seminars, at the Dibba Saad Bin Abi Waqqs Secondary School in Fujairah. Timed to coincide the schools ‘Big Knowledge Fair’ exhibition, the seminar highlighted the benefits the Internet can bring to the education environment.

Other topics covered included electronic communication between teachers, students and parents and the future of e-learning. “This is an ongoing effort by EIM to reach more people with the power of the Internet in the United Arab Emirates (UAE),” commented Abdulla Hashim, senior manager, Business Development and Sales.

“This seminar follows a number of other school presentations we have given in the past throughout the county. Both students and teachers are an integral part of developing Internet adoption, and we realize the importance of educating this audience,” he added.

EIM is the Internet service provider arm of Etisalat and was launched in March 2000. Today the UAE has more than one million users, placing the country in the top 20 most Internet wired countries in the world. — (menareport.com)
