The American Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the General Dynamics Company, has been contracted to supply the Egyptian presidential fleet with two Gulfstream G400 aircraft, valued at over $59 million.
Delivery is to be made by March 2005. The contract was awarded to the company by the US Air Force under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, which is the government-to-government method for selling US defense equipment, services and training.
Earlier this month, the US Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems, another business unit of General Dynamics, a $141 million contract modification for 100 M1A1 hardware kits for the Egyptian tank co-production program.
Gulfstream designs, develops, manufactures, markets, services and supports business jet aircraft. The company has produced over 1,300 aircraft for customers around the world since 1958.
General Dynamics, headquartered in Virginia, employs 54,000 people worldwide and anticipates 2002 revenues of approximately $14 billion.
