The Head of the General Taxes Authority, Talaat Hammam, stated that Egypt signed five bilateral double taxation avoidance accords in 2000 and 2001, reported Al-Ahram . These agreements were signed with Bulgaria, Holland, Yemen, Singapore and Malta. This month, the Egyptian Advisory Council approved a double taxation avoidance agreement with Indonesia. Talaat, stressed the importance of these agreements, whereby they play a key-role in alluring foreign investments into Egypt.
