The Egyptian government has slated for sale next year four subsidiary companies of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries and five holdings of the Holding Company for Mining and Metallurgical Industries, reported Al-Alam Al-Yaum.

The move, part of the national privatization plan, will see the sale of the following industrial firms: RAKTA, El Nasr, Sinai for Manganese, Resin, Al-Ahlyaa for Steel, Sournagaa, El Nasr for Steel Pipes, SIMAF and Alexandria Refractors.

Egypt has witnessed the privatization of over 190 firms and industrial operations between 1993 and up until the February-end 2002. Currently, 181 companies are left in the ownership of the state. — (menareport.com)
