Egyptian government to issue five million electronic payment cards

A top executive at the International Visa Corporation is due to visit Egypt in the near future, reported Al-Hayat . The Visa representative will present a new governmental project consisting of issuing five million electronic payment cards in Egypt by 2006. The project includes issuing one million cards every year. The payment cards will enable state-employees to receive their salaries and execute all of their payments through automated teller machines (ATM). — (menareport.com)
