Egyptian fruit and vegetable output hit 20 million tons

The Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Yossuf Botrous Ghali, stated that his ministry managed to raise the local fruits and vegetables output up to 20 million tons, reported Al-Ahram . This quantity is enough not only to meet domestic consumption but also to export to foreign markets. Ghali added that his ministry has been always making efforts to enlarge the local agricultural output for both local consumption and export purposes. The ministry focuses also on the post-harvesting phases of the farming process, including bottling and packaging and quality checking. — (menareport.com)
