A recently published economic report reveals that Egyptian exports to the United States increased by 19.8 percent during the first five months of 2001, reaching $402.9 million, according to Al-Ahram daily. Egyptian exports to the US in corresponding period last year, stood at $336 million.
The report, prepared by Egypt’s economic office in Washington DC, also showed that trade between Egypt and the USA has risen by 7.3 percent during the same period. Exchanges during the first five months of 2001 were valued at $1.8 billion. In comparison, trade between the two countries during the corresponding period of the previous year reached $1.688 billion. ― (MENA Report)
